Scylla changes
otter — Sat, 03/06/2010 - 01:50
I don't think anyone here is actively using scylla email addresses any more, but if you are, please let me know. I've moved the mail system to a new pair of hosts (so that they can use the same back-end as apocalypse-engine) and, well, it's working great for me. Hahaha.
While I was doing the transfer I came across some very very old mail, and realized that as of 3/4, I've been running my own mail and web site for 12 years now. That seems like a long damn time. Sure it used to be called ottrocities.com back then, but it took a couple years before the slackasses sitting on scylla.org to let the registration lapse so I could snatch it up. Scylla.com, I'm still watching out for you....
I know I haven't been paying all that much attention to the scylla site these days. Most of my home unix admin time has been going to the back end (which over the last year has gotten a lot more complicated) and propping up services for apocalypse-engine.com. I won't bore you with the geeky details unless I corner you when drinking, but you might have noticed things like the theme changing as well as a number of rarely used features disappearing, and me not bothering to fix them. Really, it's not that I don't care, it's just that I care more about making other things here work.
If there's anything that's really bugging people that's changed, let me know. I'll take care of it. After I get apocalypse-engine 2.0 to work that is :)

Single Entendre — Mon, 03/15/2010 - 02:44I realize it's a labor of love, so to speak, but thanks for doing it. I've certainly enjoyed it. You can bore me with details for exactly as long as you can stand that face I make, the same face a dog makes when it is being shown card tricks...
Twelve years, geez Thanks!
