Spare the meat, save the world!

It sounds like bad PETA propaganda, but it's true:

Two researchers at the University of Chicago estimated that switching to a vegan diet would have a bigger impact than trading in your gas guzzler for a Prius. A study out of Carnegie Mellon University found that the average American would do less for the planet by switching to a totally local diet than by going vegetarian one day a week.

don't get me wrong

I'm tempted. And I do love my veggies. Just don't think I have the willpower yet. Maybe when it gets popular with the kids these days?

(Oh, and as I noted here, you should also paint your roof white.)

Did we ever actually decide

Single Entendre — Thu, 08/06/2009 - 23:44

Did we ever actually decide if individual contributions actually could make a difference to environmental maintenance? Last I heard, industries of all kinds make more impact than anything else.

That sounds close to S&F's

That sounds close to S&F's reasons to not vote.

Here's why it's not though.

Here's why it's not though. The environment can be affected in increments, it's not simply "healthy" or "fucked," therefore even small changes are changes nonetheless. Elections on the other hand have only two possible values. And while I know everyone knows this, I figured I'd say it. Regardless, I'm always in support of apathy. ;)

Failure to vote causes

Failure to vote causes greenhouse gas. Dick.
