In Chad, you can get a plate of fried blood for about 20¢. With peppers, onions, salt, Maggi stock cubes (aka, flavored MSG), and spicy sauce.
They don't really say what kind of blood, but that's probably all right.

Not so strange
MuttWitch — Mon, 06/01/2009 - 17:19if you're a meat eater, IMO. I don't really see blood as a far leap from flesh. Especially when people eat animal hearts all the time.
Also, this reminded me of a recent documentary I saw about South Africans eating clay, and it having addictive properties. They even sell it in "baggies" and the police are busting people over it. (I found this article about it. Pretty much the same as the documentary.)
