Why sharks are discussed in mammal terms (they talk about 'litters' of 'pups' in that article)... these are fish last time I checked?? fish used to have clutches of fry or something?

The only difference between theory and practice is that in theory, there is none.
That's what they call baby sharks. The species of shark that have live births, do so similarly to mammals.
From Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shark#Reproduction
Sharks have a different reproductive strategy from most fish. Instead of producing huge numbers of eggs and fry, sharks normally produce around a dozen pups These pups are either protected by egg cases or born live. (Until the 16th century, sharks were known to mariners as "sea dogs.")
