Hair Dye May Raise Cancer Risk

Because the universe hates us...

Hairdressing just got a little more dangerous. The latest Working Group report by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) concludes that there is enough evidence to suggest that hairdressers and barbers are "probably" at greater risk from bladder cancer because of their exposure to hair dye.

You should work for CNN, posting the part that makes it seems scariest, and not the other parts that make it seem like they have no idea what they're talking about.

I just kind of assume that

I just kind of assume that the people here always keep in mind that any new study is pretty much half bullshit and just as likely as not to be utterly disproven within a couple of years. ;)

I've heard for many years

I've heard for many years (since the 80's at least) about connections between hair dye and bladder cancer. I suspect the various dye industries have done a LOT of R&D about reducing that. Living customers = better customers and all that.

I wonder if vegetable dyes are better in that?

Also, you don't even have any hair, do you? What the hell are you coloring?? Wait, don't answer that.

The only difference between theory and practice is that in theory, there is none.

*lol* no I sadly have

*lol* no I sadly have nothing left to dye, but if all my nights out in ten years are riddled with, "OMGBRB my bladder cancer is acting up again!" I'm gonna be right annoyed. ;)
